Ayutthaya is located about 80 kilometers north of Bangkok. It was the first capital of Thailand back in 1767 with the ruins of the old city now forming the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that contains palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries, and statues. Although the city is very old with lots of history, golf in the area is very new with Bangsai Country Club opened in just 1996, Muang Ake Wang Noi opened in 2006 and Northern Rangsit opened in 1993. Courses in the area are prominently set up for local golfers but all will welcome foreigners with open arms.
